The Royal Photographic Society
Biennial Members’ Print Exhibition 2015
The Royal Photographic Society has a rich and diverse heritage. It was founded in 1853, to promote the art and science of photography, and is still a leading voice in the world of photography today. It is an educational charity with a worldwide membership of over 11,000, and membership is open to anyone with an interest in photography.
The Society has been staging open photographic exhibitions continuously since its formation. The Members’ Print Exhibition is exclusively for members of The Society and takes place every two years. For the 2015 exhibition, nearly 3,300 images were submitted from members worldwide via an online competition site, and the judges had the difficult task of selecting just 100 for the Exhibition, including the Gold, Silver and Bronze award winners.
RPS Exhibitions Manager, Lesley Goode says: “The Royal Photographic Society’s International Members’ Biennial Print Exhibition is a highlight of The Society’s calendar. It is open to all RPS members, be they students, amateurs or professionals, and attracts a range of photography from across the globe. The selected 100 images showcase the diversity of photographic interests within The Society. With such a variety of genres and styles of photography on show, all visitors to the exhibition will find images that they will enjoy, and that will inspire them or provoke a reaction.”
